Una Golondrina Caribeña
Storytelling • Slice of Life
A visual storytelling piece where we told the story of Abderramán Brenes Laroche, a Puerto Rican judoka and teacher who defined himself as a "Caribbean Swallow" to emphasise his nomadic nature and life philosophy.

The Brief
For my course in Visual Storytelling, we had to direct and produce a video in "slice of life" format to tell someone's story. Everyone's story can be told and angled in a million different ways, and we first had to find which one spoke to Abderramán's heart. That is how the title "Una Golondrina Caribeña" surged; it was his own way of defining himself.
From that initial conversation, we derived the concept of the narrative, using his life philosophy and love for travel as the main theme to which the rest were subtended. The photos below are from the visual treatment we conducted before producing the final piece.
